Healing Testimony - Praise Report

May 10,2006 I went to the optometrist in Harrison because my right and central vision from my left eye was completely dark. The optometrist said I had a torn retina and she made an appointment with the retina specialist in Springfield for the very next day. Due to a cancellation, I was able to have surgery the next day at 4:00 p.m. The specialist was very pessimistic detailing all the things that could go wrong with the surgery and my vision in general. I told him I was believing the Lord for total restoration. Before surgery, I asked if I could pray with him. He graciously accepted and I prayed that God would help him to do what he could and that God would do what he couldn't in the mighty name of Jesus by whose stripes we were healed. After surgery, he was elated. It wasn't as bad as he supposed. However, he again painted a pessimistic outlook of my vision. He also said that the retina heals slowly. It would take 2-3 mo. to know the outcome of my vision. (Our awesome God isn't limited to the natural realm.) I shook my head and I told him I was believing for total healing from the Lord. On Thursday, May 17th I went in for my one week check up. They did the battery of tests that they did prior to surgery. Before surgery, I was presented with a grid with a dot in the middle. I could not see the whole grid. Neither could I see the whole chart of letters. But on this day, I could read the E and the next line down and could see the grid although it was wavy. He said I had so much improvement in just one week, that he had no doubts that I would fully recover my sight! And he gave credit to the Lord!! Sunday, May 21, I began checking my reading vision. Last Thursday (the 17th) I could only see the shapes of the words through a magnifying glass but could not read the words with my left eye. I looked at the words from my Bible on Sunday (3 days later) and I could read the words on the page! The lines were wavy and some of the letters are squeezed together but I can read them-- a vast improvement in only 3 days!!!!

I have studied healing scriptures for many years - there are hundreds of them! But during this time I have been cemented into especially one: Isaiah 53:4 "Surely he have borne (Hebrew- nasah- meaning to lift or carry away) our griefs (Hebrew- choliy- meaning afflictions, sicknesses, diseases, calamity, sorrow) and carried (like a servant bearing a heavy load or a woman carrying a baby in her womb) our sorrows. I pictured Jesus on the cross with not only the weight of every sin on him but every disease as well. I saw him in my mind's eye with a torn retina and blurry vision. And he bore it for me for my physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. In addition to the above, I took no pain medication after surgery. I didn't need it. I had no pain!! The doctor said that was very unusual because he said this was a very intensive surgery.
